A
personal message from Leona Isaak, FCAPA
My
interest in photography began in my teens by taking "record"
shots of friends, family, and vacation places. With encouragement from
my friends and family, photography soon became a serious hobby. My first
learning experiences came when I joined a camera club and participated
in competitions, listened, observed, absorbed, and put into practice the
judge's evaluations. Soon after I began to develop a personal style of
my own. This personal style is a never ending process - by attending workshops,
seminars, reading photography books, examining other photographer's work,
and above all exposing lots of film. My subjects range from wide open
landscapes, to the minute close focus of flowers creating abstracts with
hues of color.
My
enthusiasm for photography is enhanced when I have the opportunity to
share my techniques and some of my favorite photographic locations.
This
is your invitation to come and share the rich landscapes, wildflowers,
meadows, splashing waterfalls, quiet forest havens, and the thundering
of horse's hooves.
We
often take the natural world for granted, but in reality the benefits
we derive are enormous. It provides open lands, parks, pristine wilderness,
clear air, water, and scenes that soothe the soul. Every aspect of nature
is worthy of respect and holds a place of honour on Earth. Nature lover
and photographers can be a powerful force in helping to preserve this
natural world. It behooves us to take our cameras and discover the secrets
the natural world shares with us. Preserve it on film and share it with
others.
Whether
you are a beginner, intermediate, or an advanced photographer, you will
find what you are looking for in my workshops and tours. My goal is to
help each participant to reach their potential, to create more than just
acceptable images, by sharing locations and techniques to take your photography
from good to great! I extend
an invitation to you to participate in one of our workshops. You will
have a lot of fun while you learn, and you just might discover (or rediscover)
the creative side of yourself. |
